Nothing like seeing grown men and woman with tears in their eyes as the AFC championship is awarded to the owner of the Pats...I remember going to games and you could buy tickets the day of the game, even then you would go to watch the fights in the stands, everyone in New england use to call them the Red Sox in shoulder pads because the Red Sox use to be out of the pennent race about the time the Pats started camp......Now they are the Yankees of football....Like it or not in 2 weeks they will have concluded one of the top 2 or 3 seasons in NFL history.

Good thing for them there was not only really good teams in the NFL this year - everybody was on the same page - the Patriots just seemed to be one of the better mediocre teams - who can still lose to another mediocre team in Carolina -

maybe there should be an asterick on this year's winner.

Spinman,
Mediocre....what team have you been watching? Mediocre teams don't win 14 in a row. This Patriots defense is one of the best ever. I'll admit that the offense is anemic at times, but they make the plays when they need to. There will be an asterick next to their name after the 1st 3 games of next year when they've won 18 in a row, longest streak of ALL time!!!

Both prior SB winners - Tampa Bay Bucs and Baltimore Ravens were FAR superior to this teams defense.

Where is Tampa and Baltimore now.... club med??? Face it, the Patriots deserve to go to the Bowl. They are a great team...just look at their schedule...beat Indy twice, beat Tenn twice, beat Philly, beat Denver, beat Dallas...all playoff teams. Mediocre? 14 wins in a row...they sure are damn good for a mediocre team!!!

Patriot,

You make me laugh! The Pat's are the Yankees of football? Surly you jest. For one, your team has no Superstars. For another, your payroll isn't even close to what George spends. And we won't even talk about the number of Championships the Yankees have to what...ONE Superbowl?

I could go on, but I'm laughing too hard as I type this. The Pat's may be good, but they are not even in the same league as the Yanks. Get a grip dude,

Stalker OK I may have over stated it...I hate the Yankees but they are proffesionals and know how to win and are good guys on that team and I respect that....The Pats are in the same direction in that regard...remeber football is more of a team sport...The Pats have beaten 3 MVP individuals in a row in the playoffs. If they win this will be 2 out of 3 years and the sky is the limit they are only going to get better.

lol. . .the cardinals could luck out and win the SB and there would be dynasty talk. this is rediculous. to even suggest a team as lacking in talent as much as the patriots could even be considered with any of the greats is a complete farce. get some names on that club and well see. and when brady has a season where he threw more than just 2 tds over his ints we'll talk about it then.

im on the pats in the SB BTW

What is most impressive about the Patriots is that they are the most balanced team in the game. Their offense has a middle-of-the-pack running back, a fine young quarterback, and a lot of people who just do their jobs. The defense is the best in the business. And the special teams are rock solid.

Whether they win the Super Bowl or not, that doesn’t change. In a league in which a friggin dynasty is declared every time a team wins four straight, the Pats are consistent. They didn’t make the playoffs last year, a year after they won the Super Bowl, but they also didn’t collapse. And now they’re back contending for another Super Bowl. Next year, they’ll be a pre-season favorite to get back again. I ask you, what else could you want from a team?

wil. great points. i think sometimes i go a lil out of my way to try and take away from what the pats are doing. in all fairness im fully aware that we could be looking at a dynasty but it could be the first ever "ugly dynasty" meaning they constantly win ugly. (they may be down right pretty on 2/01) i wanna see a 25 td 6 int season from brady or a top rusher or an animal WR who gets mentioned with owens and moss. or a guy on defense who stands above the rest all season long. i want to look at this team when its all said and done and im a real old man and say "yea that team was great, they had so and so who could do this they had such and such who could do that" but all i got so far to say in 20 yrs is, adam was a great clutch kicker and they had brady who executed great. they played so well as a team.

it just bothers me i cant throw out names on end like the other NFL dynastys. and since im in mass the patriots are the talk everywhere i go. im trying hard to sell myself on them. i really am. i guess people arent always welcome to change and i am guilty of that here.

however i can put aside the nonsense i think, to know well enough that pats laying the points are the play and you better believe i am loading up. GL2U wil, thanks for knocking some sense into my head even if that wasnt really directed at me.

This game will be boring for the person looking for alot of points, but great for the person looking for bust your ass in your face football. These two teams will go at it like two warriors. This won't be a game for the weak.

Time will tell if the Dink and Dunk will work against Carolina. Carolina rolls

I'm not sure what league spinman was watching or what he was smoking when he typed his post but the Pats are the best team in the NFL. In fact the Pats, Colts, and Titans are all better than Carolina. Carolina is a good team and has proven that they are the best team in the NFC this year, however the NFC had a down year.

Back to the Pats.....They are going to be good for years to come. They have 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks this year. If they keep their coaching staff together they are going to be tough for the next few years.

Glad you had fun at the game Patriot. GL to your Pats.

KMAN
